Upper WAWA Pumping Station – Power Supply System Project

Avotech Corporation successfully delivered the Design and Build of the 34.5kV Permanent Power Supply System for the Upper Wawa Pumping Station, part of the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project.

Under this project, Avotech was responsible for the complete engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and energization support of the medium-voltage electrical infrastructure required to provide permanent power to the pumping station.
The project scope included the design and installation of the First Private Pole and utility interface, 34.5kV recloser, metering facilities with CT/PT, surge protection, medium-voltage switching and protection equipment, 36kV switchgear, overhead and underground MV distribution lines, power cables, cable splicing and termination, OPGW/fiber-optic infrastructure, and associated protection and metering systems.

As a Design and Build contractor, Avotech carried out the required engineering development, technical coordination, equipment integration, field installation, testing, and commissioning necessary to deliver a complete and operational medium-voltage power system.
The project achieved its first successful energization on 1 April 2025, marking a major milestone in establishing the permanent electrical supply required for the operation of the Upper Wawa Pumping Station.

This project highlights Avotech Corporation’s capability to execute complex Design and Build medium-voltage electrical infrastructure projects, from engineering and equipment supply through installation, protection integration, testing, commissioning, and final energization.
